This Is My Story

October 1, 2004
BETTY FLETCHER

When I was 7 years old, my Dad took my sister and me to a Baptist tent revival meeting in

In Sunday School I was taught God's Word and made reading the Bible and praying daily and developing a personal relationship with Jesus a priority in my life.  Though I have not always walked in a right relationship with Him, He has always been there for me; loving, forgiving, comforting, meeting every need.

There came a "crossroads" time in my life, when I felt compelled to make a complete commitment to Jesus.  I promised to follow Him no matter what happened, or what the cost, and made Him Lord of my life.

I am 73 years-old, and in good times and bad, I have trusted Jesus, and He has been a faithful, tender loving friend.  One scripture which has inspired, sustained me is Philippians 4: 4, 6-7, "Rejoice in the Lord always, again I will say rejoice." (V.4 NKJV) "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (v.6) "And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (v.7)

I am looking forward to seeing my Lord and enjoying His promised rewards. If you don't know my Jesus, let me share with you John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
